FlowPro:
Borescope Cooling Flow Optimisation Tool
FlowPro is a powerful solution developed by Altair for LAND® using their advanced romAl model, built on CFD simulation data and validated through real-world trials. It delivers instant, accurate predictions of thermal imaging borescope tip temperature for any combination of cooling flows and flue gas temperatures helping engineers recommend optimal cooling without waste.
Simply provide your cooling media and flue gas parameters using the form below, and LAND will respond with predictions for tip and outlet water temperatures. If a range of predictions is required, please make this clear in the notes section of the request and we will reach out.
Note:
FlowPro provides predictions only. While every reasonable effort will be made to include an appropriate safety margin, the accuracy of the output relies on accurate input data.
The analysis done by FlowPro Assumes a good installation as per the user guide specification of the borescope, it does not consider the effect of the external furnace ambient on the camera electronics, however these are typically a issue.
Please provide 4 of the 5 input figures values below and then the 5th value will be optimised e.g if you provide water flow, water inlet temperature, instrument air temperature, and flue gas temperature. The analysis will be done to use as little instrument air flow as possible while maintaining safe operation of the borescope camera. You can add any further information into the additional information box. E.g max water flow is 20l/min but would ideally like to use no more than 10l/min
Furnace Type
This should be the type of furnace you are considering installing the cameras on E.G Ethylene cracker, Steam Methane reformer, biomass boiler
Input Figures
Answer 4 out of the 5 boxes below.
Water Flow Rate (L/min)
This is the maximum available water per camera, if considering a multicamera system divide available flow by number of cameras
Water Inlet Temperature (°C)
Maximum water inlet temperature at the inlet to the camera housing, some calculation may need to be conducted by the user to define this. Please consider worse case E.g hottest day during summer months.
Instrument Air Flow Rate (SLPM)
This is the maximum available air flow per camera, if considering a multicamera system divide available flow by number of cameras. This is standardised litres per minute, so it the Flow rate at standard temperature and pressure.
Instrument Air Temperature (°C)
Maximum instrument air inlet temperature at the inlet to the camera housing, some calculation may need to be conducted by the user to define this. Please consider worse case E.g hottest day during summer months.
Flue Gas Temperature (°C)
Maximum Flue Gas temperature inside the process during normal operation.
